HBS Marketing and the Environment

At HBS Marketing, we are committed to operating in the most environmentally responsible way possible. We do this by not just setting and implementing policies but by boasting a team that personally believes in behaving in environmentally sustainable ways and values ethical choices.

Because our environmental practices spring from a sincere desire to do the right thing, we follow them consistently:

  1. We are scrupulous about turning off lights, turning off taps, not overheating or overcooling and turning computers off at night.
  2. We have by design used an open-concept studio approach to reuse as much of the original materials of our old building as possible.
  3. We have a “work at home” policy to reduce polluting commuting practices.
  4. We actively encourage employees to walk, cycle or bus and many employees have chosen to live with an easy cycle of the office.
  5. We always carpool to client meetings when we cannot walk, cycle or bus.
  6. We require employees to recycle glass, aluminum, cardboard, cardstock, paper and anything else that can be recycled.
  7. We use 100% post-consumer recycled print paper stock.
  8. We regularly recommend and encourage clients to use environmentally responsible paperstocks and promotional items.
  9. We require employees to print in B/W whenever possible and to refrain from unnecessary printing.
  10. We try to use the least harmful chemicals and inks at all times.

We also take pride in the number of companies working in sustainable environmental technologies that have selected to work with us, companies such as Ensyn, Clearford, Lafleche Environmental, Menova Engineering, Canadian Wind Energy Association and Minto.
